Sacramento Attorney Alice Strömbom

“I’m unique among applicant attorneys because I’ve been a part of so many aspects of the workers’ compensation system – first as a paralegal working directly with injured workers and later as claims adjuster working on the insurance side. After becoming an attorney I started my legal career on the defense side representing insurance carriers and now work as an applicant’s attorney representing injured workers – something I’ve taken great joy in and something I feel is, truly, my calling. That said, I understand the different pieces of the puzzle that help make the system work.”
In addition to a thorough knowledge of the law, Alice believes the second greatest attribute of a good workers’ compensation attorney is compassion.
“When someone is injured and unable to work they find themselves under an enormous amount of stress – financial stress if their income level is reduced, physical stress as they cope with a debilitating injury, and emotional stress as they wonder if they’ll be able to return to their prior occupation. Add to this mix an overworked claims adjuster who doesn’t have time to return phone calls and you have a recipe for fear and frustration. That’s where I come in. In addition to helping an injured worker get the very best possible settlement on their case, I also hope to alleviate some of the stress that being in the system creates. That can entail everything from talking to a treating physician, to procuring the very best medical legal evaluator, to taking their case to trial if we reach an impasse. I love what I do and am happy to be a part of the team here at Bowman & Associates.”
When she’s not in court or in the office, Alice can be found hanging out with her young adult children, walking her dog Karl in Land Park, watching the latest Indie film with friends at the Tower or curled up at home with a good book.
